Aloha Ohana,
Kona was formed out of love for music and the desire to share it with others. Over the past few years, we were fortunate enough to be able to share our passion for music and fellowship with you. You came to hear and see us at many venues, and for that we want to say, ‘Mahalo nui’ (thank you very much.)
As our brother Robert Kenui Pope has gone on to take a gig in God’s House Band, Kona will be taking a hiatus from playing venues. Duane has decided to concentrate on his Music Ministry as he leads praise and worship every Sunday along with Dell at God's Rolling Thunder in Woodstock, GA. Dell recently remarried and will continue to play with Duane in church and spend time with his new wife. Rhonda has taken a new job with Southwest Airlines and will be traveling quite a bit, but plans to keep singing around town whenever opportunities arise. She also looks forward to sitting in with Duane and Dell at GRT from time to time. You can also visit the Aloha Open Mic at Ronnie John’s Sunset Grille, which founded by Robert and continued in his honor by Steve and Lesli Bryson of The Woodys. We get going every Monday at 6:30pm and play until 9:30pm. You never know which of us may be there, but we can tell you that some of the best musicians this side of the ATL walk through the doors to take the stage. If you have a memory or photo that you would like to share with us, please visit Robert’s Online Memorial by clicking the link below. Aloha,
Duane, Rhonda & Dell
